A Biblical Perspective of Faith Promise GivingIt is a FAITH offering. It is an offering that is given by faith to the local church in which God has placed you.“For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves…And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.”2 Corinthians 8:3-5It is a FAITH PROMISE. The Faith Promise is a commitment between the individual believer and the Lord to give a certain amount to missions during the next year. The amount is determined by the exercise of faith, under the Lordship of Christ in the believer’s life. This promise should be fulfilled cheerfully by faith without coercion.“Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.”2 Corinthians 9:7It is a FAITH PROMISE OFFERING. It is an offering to the work of Christ carried out by scriptural missionaries around the world. This scriptural plan of missions giving provides the necessary money to extend the work of our Lord beyond the ministry of a local church.“Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only. For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity. Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.”Philippians 4:15-17 InvolvementDid you know that more than $11.7 billion was spent last year on soft drinks? This is one of those statistics that illustrates that a small amount of money spent over a period of time really adds up!What if every person at FBC caught the “vision” of Faith Promise Missions giving and committed ourselves to faithfully and even sacrificially giving to Faith Promise Missions at FBC? What would happen?20 children giving $.50 each week for a year: $520 a year!40 students giving up 2 soft drinks each week for a year: More than $6000 a year!10 couples sacrificially giving $100 each week for a year: $52,000The amount one gives is not important – that is a personal matter between the giver and the Lord. What is important is for everyone that is a part of Faith Baptist Church to be involved in giving so others can take the Gospel to a lost world. This world is full of people waiting to hear the Gospel. Missionaries are busy raising support to take the Gospel to those people. May each of us be committed to giving to the see the fulfillment of the Great Commission – “Go ye into all the world…”
An Endeavor of FaithCovenant for the Sudanese PeopleWe the people of Faith Baptist Church covenant with one another and with the Lord Jesus Christ to adopt the Sudanese people as our spiritual responsibility. We purpose to take the gospel to the Sudanese through praying, giving, and going and purpose to plant churches among them. We commit to become informed about the Sudanese, to systematically pray for their salvation and to the starting of self-reproducing churches. We Shall:Pray faithfully that the Lord of the harvest send laborers to the SudaneseUse our spiritual gifts and talents to be personally involved in reaching, teaching, and training Sudanese to reach SudaneseProvide both the written and oral Word of God to the SudaneseDo whatever it takes spiritually, physically, and financially to give the Sudanese the opportunity to know the Lord Jesus Christ as SaviorTrust God to be faithful to provide both the will and means to make disciples and see this endeavor of faith accomplished for His gloryWe enter into this covenant on the 24th day of February, 2008 and until such a time that a mature and thriving church has been established among the Sudanese people.

For many years, Faith Baptist Church has operated 2 bus routes through the Jefferson City area, bringing children and teens to our church services. Our purpose is to bring the gospel message of salvation to children and teens whose parents do not or cannot attend a Bible-preaching church. Our goal after they have received Jesus as their Savior is to continue to help them grow spiritually. Our ultimate goal is to evangelize the parents and thereby reach the whole family with the gospel of Christ. The Buses leave out of the FBC parking lot at 8:00am on Sunday mornings and return by 9:00am for Sunday School. They depart at 6:00pm on Wednesday evenings and return by 7:00pm for our services. For more information please do not hesitate to call our offices at 865.475.7608.
The staff in our nurseries and teachers in the Pre-School Ministry are committed to investing Christian love and valuable time in the life of your preschooler. We are excited to partner with you in order to build a strong biblical foundation in your child’s life. The Nurseries at FBC have been designed for your child’s safety and care. Private restrooms are available for the staff in the nurseries and a reception area in the nursery’s foyer ensures a secure area in which to both drop off and pick up infants. An electronic paging system is required for each parent in order to pick up children from the Nurseries. There are two teaching classes in our Pre-School Ministry: the Toddlers (ages two and three) and the Beginners (ages four and five). Each use their own room during both the Sunday School and Worship hours. In this age group, exciting lessons about God, Jesus, the Bible, the church and the family are taught on your child’s level of learning. Singing, Bible verse memory and craft time keep the children in a creative environment in which to learn the truths of God’s Word.We are thrilled that you and your family are at Faith. We are truly privileged that we can minister to your children in our exciting Pre-School Ministry.
“Suffer the little children to come unto me,” said Jesus to His disciples. The teachers and staff in the Children’s Ministry at Faith Baptist Church desire to do just that – make Jesus Christ and salvation in Him available to those who often exercise the greatest faith! We are excited to welcome your son and/or daughter to their classes. Whether in our Sunday morning Ministries or the
Master Clubs that meet on Wednesday nights, your elementary-age child will have great opportunities to learn from the Bible, enjoy activities that reinforce that learning and memorize God’s Word in their hearts. The Primary (grades 1-3) and Junior (grades 4-5) classes meet in their respective classes during Sunday School and the Worship hour on Sunday mornings. Their teachers bring well-prepared lessons from the Bible that focus on Bible stories. These stories provide illustrations that reveal God’s love for people that led Him to send Jesus to the world as Savior. There is a strong emphasis of the gospel in the Children’s Ministry Sunday School and Worship hours. These same age groups participate in the Master Clubs ministry at FBC on Wednesday. The emphasis in this ministry is discipleship – teaching young Christians how to live like Jesus! Bible study and verse memorization are strongly encouraged in this mid-week ministry. There are numerous opportunities to earn merit badges for service and accomplishment, as well as participating in national competitions. It has become apparent that this is the age in which most people accept Jesus as Savior. What an exciting time to be able to minister to children! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to teach your child, to present them with the gospel’s message of salvation, and to reinforce the core values learned in a Godly Christian home. We trust that your children will have their spiritual foundation made stronger because the Children’s Ministry here.
Perhaps at no other time in history has it been so important for Christian students to stand for the truth of God’s Word. From the nervous excitement of one just entering middle school to the anticipation of the soon-to-be college grad, every Christian student has a great opportunity to stand for Christ and to build their lives on biblical truth. Contrary to the “gray” philosophy of post-modernism stands the words of Jesus Christ: “I am THE way, THE truth and THE life; no man cometh to the Father, but by me.”The Student Ministry at Faith Baptist Church desires to partner with parents to communicate that idea. Through Sunday and Wednesday night Bible studies, camps, activities and service opportunities, students are encouraged not only to learn the truths of the Bible, but to be “doers of the Word.” At this age level, the foundation of Bible stories taught in the younger classes is built upon by adding Biblical principles that help to form the choices students face everyday: friends – priorities – job opportunities – which college to attend and what to study.Three classes are in FBC’s Student Ministry: Middle School Ministry (MSM) for those in the sixth through eighth grades; High School Ministry (HSM), for high school students, and Life Builders, for young adults who are in college or of college age. All three classes meet on Sunday mornings during the Sunday School hour, and MSM and HSM meet again Wednesday EveningSomeone wisely said that success is finding and doing God’s will. Any student can be successful in that light when they build their lives on the truths of God’s Word. Thank you for allowing us to have a part in directing your student down the path of God’s will for their lives. You can find Student Relevant information at a few different places: The
Student Webpage or we have video web-channels for
activities and
drama.
The Adult Ministry at Faith Baptist Church has a place for everyone, combining Biblical teaching with Christian fellowship--like the first-century church. Adult Bible Study Fellowships meet on Sunday mornings to provide an effective setting for Christians to gather around a key study in God’s Word. The study may be verse-by-verse through a book of the Bible or an examination of a Bible character’s life. Each of the adult classes are faithfully led by gifted teachers dedicated to communicating God’s Word.FITness Classes (Faith In Training) are electives that are periodically available for adults on Wednesday evenings at the mid-week service. These classes vary in their topic and format. Discipleship, biblical stewardship, family matters and surveys of books of the Bible are examples that may be taught by a teacher or reviewed in a video format. One of the strengths of any local church is its biblical discipleship ministry. At Faith, this ministry is based on 2 Timothy 2:2 – “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” It is a one-on-one twenty-topic study intended to deepen the believer’s walk with Jesus Christ and emphasizing a practical Christianity that helps one to live a godly life.Fellowship outside of the scheduled services is also an important part of the Adult Ministry at FBC. Whether a baseball game at Smokies Park or a potluck dinner with other families, we are always looking for opportunities to get together with each other for Christian fellowship.

Our ladies ministry is designed to meet the needs of specific seasons in life. We have a class specifically for women who are in their senior years. This ministry has many activities geared toward this age group. We have another ministry that involves ladies who have had to deal with the more difficult issues that come along in life. Faith Baptist Church is a New Testament local church, a called out assembly of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ who have covenanted together to glorify the God of Heaven in this part of the earth by prayer, praise and the proclamation of the Word.We exist to magnify the Person, beauties, attributes and free salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ through worship and the Word.We exist to stablish and strengthen believers as God conforms them into the image of His Son, and to be used of God as He moves believers to maturity and to ministry. We exist to obey our Lord’s Great Commission, and make Christ and His salvation known to our neighbors and the nations, across the street and around the world. The heart’s desire of Faith Baptist Chruch is for people to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and become actively involved in a Bible-believing, Bible-preaching church that cares for them!We believe that a Baptist is one who believes in a supernatural Bible, which tells of a supernatural Christ, Who had a supernatural birth, Who spoke supernatural words, Who performed supernatural miracles, Who lived a supernatural life, Who died a supernatural death, Who rose in supernatural splendor; Who intercedes as a supernatural priest and Who will one day return in supernatural glory to establish a supernatural kingdom on the earth. For a look at our Articles of Faith in PDF format please
